Stephen (Steve) grew up and was educated in Suffolk. Most of the next 35 years was spent in various fields of journalism beginning with the EADT in 1990 where he was chief crime reporter. Traipsing through the old Fleet Street, via various foreign assignments, he ended up at the FT in 1997 and then online as an award-winning editor and editor-in-chief. He was also a columnist for the Financial Mail on Sunday and co-founded one of the first internet TV financial news channels. Other professional interests include security (he holds an SIA Close Protection Licence) and marksmanship training. His wife Lucy is parish clerk for Cransford. He enjoys cooking, shooting, guitar-playing and good company, including his bonkers spaniel, Dizzy. He came home to Fram from London in 2016, and joined the Council in July 2023
