Fly-tipping
We were sad to hear of recent episodes of fly-tipping within the town.
We have two clothes banks- one at the Fire Station and one at Fore Street Car Park, plus charity shops take good quality used clothes for re-sale and will often take poorer quality ones for rags.
Fly-tipping is a criminal offence and can be punished with a fine of up £50,000 and a prison sentence of up to 5 years. Please let us know if you see anyone fly-tipping, and if you have photographic evidence it can lead to prosecution. Incidents can also be reported here: www.gov.uk/report-flytipping
We are noticing more rubbish is being left at the recycling centre at Fore Street - a toaster, take-away packaging, empty bags and boxes - and this also constitutes fly-tipping.
Thank you.
